How to display a sub team

Q&ACategory: PluginHow to display a sub team
Anonymous asked 2 years ago

Lads,
thanks for this nice plugin, i have tested a lot and it is the one most easy to edit for non css people.
However, I am facing troubles with it. I have a tema Germany and a couple of sub-teams for German cities (ie. Hamburg and Munich). The sub-teams are created with parent = Team Germany. Each team member is assigned to Team Germany AND the respective city team. The team is also defined (default setting to show 5 members), otherwise exactly identical to Team Germany.
So far so good. I have then placed the team Munich short code into a page. But it seems to display team Germany – at least it is not displaying the team members assigned to team Munich only. Team Munich has 2 members only assigned. So I tried with limiting the number of members to be displayed to 2 only, but now it displays a team member from sub team Hamburg and a team member of sub team Munich – instead of displaying the two Munich members.
What am I doing wrong?
Cheers
Kerstin

Hi,
Welcome to our forum.

I am not sure what do you mean by “sub-teams” is that “Team Group” ?
if yes, probably you are using free version. our premium version has a filter for group or categories filter.
so that you can assign any members to group(categories) and filter members by group in short-code generator.
Please see the screenshot what i mean

Ok. I do now have the premium version installed. I have 5 teams. Team one is Team Germany. It has 4 sub-teams in 4 diverse cities of Germany. So what did I do:I created 5 different team groups with Team Germany having no parent and the four others having Team Germany as parent (the sub-teams). I have further created 5 teams. Each team member is assigned to Team Germany as well as to his respective sub-team.I have displayed the whole team on one page and chose “Display from older Published Member” and everything is displayed nicely when applying the shortcode. For the sub-teams I selected “Display by Member Id” and chose the respective members of the sub-team. But then the team is not displayed on the page. Please explain. I am also confused that the assignment to a team group is not available in the content section for each team.

Got it.But megod it was not easy fi you name the menu “team group” but use “team categories” in the content section…maybe worth considering using homogenous wording 😉

paratheme Staff replied 2 years ago

Please consider “categories” = “groups” Its seems you got solve your issue…. please let me know for more help. Thanks

Hi,i have like more than 10 different team groups and it looks like I can’t assign all of the to teams. When opening a team and I go to “content” the drop down only displays 7 team groups. Can I increase the number of team groups in the drop down list? If yes, can you please tell me how? If not, can you please develop that little change request?
